S&A Election in the NCR, 2018

I am a steward in the S&A group since 2007; I became a union activist when  I became aware that managers in CFIA Toronto’s office were not respecting employees’ rights ; so I  decided  to defend those who could not stand up for themselves.

 In 2011 I join the S&A executives  ;  between 2015-2017  I was honoured when the S&A executives  elected me as he president of the group.

In April, 2018 onward, I was honoured to act as the President of National Consultation Team for PIPSC in CFIA.

My main objective is to build a stronger leadership which is capable of protecting members’ rights and striving for their fair demands. I have developed working relationships with other groups in PIPSC and other unions to gain a wider support for S&A’s rights.

Achievements:

  • Provided fair representation to many of S&A members in the NCR,
  • Initiated dialogue with CFIA’s senior management to resolve matters pertaining to S&A’s, members, such as; HR issues, phoenix , working conditions,
  • Represented the group in many meetings for National Union Management Committee,
  • Have been participating in the current S&A’s collective bargaining negotiation.
