Tentative Settlement between:

The Professional Institute of the Public Service of Canada (PIPSC)

and

Canadian Commercial Corporation

The Parties Agreed to the Following:

* Employer has agreed to align the first three (3) years of economic increases with those of the AV Group in the Core Public Administration (CPA), if the increases negotiated in the CPA are greater than those stipulated above

  1. Duration – Four (4) year agreement, expiring Jun 19, 2022
  2. The Settlement includes:
    • *1.5% on June 20, 2018,
    • *1.5% on June 20, 2019,
    • *1.5% on June 20, 2020,
    • 2.5%* on June 20, 2021.
  3. Summary of agreed to amendments:
    • Article B3 – Agreement to provide any additional designated holidays as negotiated by the Core Public Administration
    • Article B7 – Articulated protection for probationary employees
    • Article C4 – Expanded family definition in bereavement leave, “a day is a day” for those working compressed schedules
    • Article C5 – Maternity and Parental Leave allowance to adjust to what is negotiated by the Core Public Administration in the third year;
    • Article C6/C11 – Corporation may request proof for long-term care leave or relocation of spouse
    • Article C7 – Expanded use of Family Related Responsibilities leave
    • Article C12 – Routine medical and dental appointments capped at 15 hours;
    • Article C16 – Addition of language courses to learning and development activities;
    • Article D9 – Employee provided 2 day written notice with reason for any disciplinary meeting and provided opportunity for choice of union representative, employee may opt to have representation during development of a Performance Improvement Plan;
    • Article E1 – Staffing changes: guaranteed debrief for unsuccessful candidates within 10 days, restrictions on new employees applying internally for 6 months, 4 month restriction on applying for lateral competitions for all newly successful employees in a position, short-term postings of less than 12 months not required to be posted;
    • Article F4 – Health and wellness benefit of $500 to be globally applied to all Employees at the beginning of each year;
    • Article G1 – No arbitrary reassignment of acting opportunities; and,
    • All editorial and housekeeping changes.
  4. All other existing provision not reflected in the tentative agreement are considered renewed.
