Graham Joanisse

My name is Graham Joanisse, and I have been a member of the IT group since I started working with Shared Services Canada in 2018. Prior to joining SSC, I served as an IT technician in the Royal Canadian Air Force for 10 years.

In my time as a PIPSC member, I have served in a variety of executive roles, including Secretary of the PIPSC Greenwood Branch and Vice President of the Annapolis Valley IT Subgroup. I have been a steward since 2019 and am currently a member of the SSC National Consultation Team. I am looking to further my involvement in the IT Group by running for a member at large position. I particularly want to provide representation for members in the regions, who often times do not feel a strong connection to the union or group. My goal is to raise awareness of PIPSC in our workplace, and convince other like-minded professionals to become involved in shaping the future of the IT Group. We are currently facing a generational gap, and with so many of our members close to retirement, I want to step up to help as a young professional of our group.

Outside of work, I am a devoted husband and father. In my spare time, I enjoy playing the guitar, volunteering as a firefighter and helping out with my neighbourhood park association.
