Previous member of the national consultation executive for National Defence. Previously provided consultation training to steward locally and nationally.
President of the Vancouver Island IT subgroup.
I communicate with stewards and members often through email and newsletters.
I have a strong relationship with local management leadership, from unit commanders to the Admiral.
I organize support for our bargaining team locally.
I have met with our local member of parliament to advocate for our members’ safety at work.
I’m active in attending advanced steward school, stewards council and regional council meetings.
I actively represent members and file grievances on their behalf. I have represented some complex cases that involved asbestos exposure, harassment, return to work, accommodations and classification.
I have a close relationship with local representatives from other unions and collaborate with them on common issues that affect the members we represent.
I have a great network of stewards that I onboard and mentor, focusing on the obstacles they experience, their leadership, self-care and relationship building.
I received great mentoring from Mr. Glenn Maxwell on consultation, leadership and stewardship.
I'm in close contact with assigned employment relations officers.
