Dear NR Members,David A. Young

It gives me great pleasure to re-offer myself as a candidate for the NR national executive. My goal in seeking your support for re-election is to continue working diligently on behalf of all NR members.

As NR vice-president, we have instituted “core” meetings to better prepare group business, resulting in successes like the recent subgroup presidents meeting held in Halifax, June past.

As a NR bargaining team member, we achieved another successful collective agreement; nevertheless, contracting out, classification (work descriptions), career development, and return to office (RTO) are still important issues to our members. RTO is closely linked to “Open Concept Work Place”, where workplace environment, remain as irritants, and needs our continued attention.

I have assisted in developing a terms of reference (TOR) to create a new professional development committee under collective agreement article 18.07 to address professional training needs of NR members.

In closing, there is no replacement for experience and hard work. I hope that I can count on your support again and your vote to continue improving our member’s workplace by addressing their issues as reported above.

Sincerely,
David A. Young
