Claudia Bell- 2023 Election Autobiography

I was honoured to be selected to serve on the bargaining team, where the collective agreement was ratified with a 90% approval from members in 2019. In 219, I served as a member at large on the NUREG executive. We actively promoted and defended the rights and interest of members through collaboration with the employer. In June of 2020, I was asked to co develop and co-chair the Canadian Nuclear Safety Commission Black Employee Network. We created a safe space for people of colour and allies to have difficult conversations regarding racism through outreach sessions. In 2022, I was selected to bargain once again for the new collective agreement (ongoing). Additionally, I was asked to serve at the central table, where we were able to bargain successfully for members rights. If elected for member at large, I endeavour to strive to build and lever strong relationships and access key decision makers on behalf of members.
