Amanda Hicks has been a resolute and influential member of the Professional Institute of the Public Service of Canada (PIPSC) for over a decade, making significant contributions to her union. Union Leadership:
Amanda’s journey with PIPSC began over ten years ago, when she took on the role of steward. In 2020, Amanda was elected as the president of the PIPSC NAV CANADA West subgroup. As president, she focused on fostering a collaborative environment and strengthening solidarity among members.
Pay Equity Advocacy:
Amanda’s commitment to equity led her to take an active role in the Pay Equity movement. As a member of cross-union groups focused on addressing systemic wage discrimination, Amanda helped bring attention to the ongoing challenges faced by individuals who occupy traditionally female roles in the workforce.
