Aaron Thompson

Since 1999, I have been involved with PIPSC in the Hamiton/Burlington area as a member of the Branch and NR subgroup. I have served in the capacities of member, Secretary, Treasurer and President and have organized many Annual General Meetings and other events. I am knowledgeable in all procedural and fiscal aspects of running the Branch and Subgroup including chairing executive and annual general meetings, speaking in front of the membership and advocating for the rights of the membership in general and in collective bargaining.

I have been a PIPSC steward since 2005 and have completed basic, advanced and additional training at Regional and Steward Councils. I have experience in representing members in issues with the employer including grievances, conflict management, and union/management consultation and am an active member of the ECCC consultation team.

I presently occupy a non-excluded management position in the National Hydrological Service of Environment and Climate Change Canada. I manage a division of skilled engineers working in the water resources field.

I humbly ask for the opportunity to apply my diverse professional and union experience to the benefit of NR members across Canada as part of the NR group Executive.
