Dear Colleagues,
After much contemplation and encouragement from PIPSC colleagues, I wish to declare my candidacy for Treasurer and seek your vote. I am confident that I will bring a fresh perspective to the role.
PIPSC involvement
- Federal public servant for 11 years, 6 years at ISED
- PIPSC member since 2014/ Bilingual steward since February 2018
- Vice-President/Montreal Subgroup since 2018/Member-at-large 2016-18
- Member-at-large/Ville Marie Branch since 2016
- PIPSC representative/OSB Labour Management Consultation Committee (LMCC), where member concerns with staffing, EPMAs, COVID-19 work related issues were addressed
- As a delegate I have always voted for the rights and to benefit CP members, attended:
- PIPSC AGM
- CP AGM
- Quebec Regional Council
- Quebec Steward Council
- Completed steward training for advance level grievances as well as consultation, leadership & working in teams
Qualifications
- As a senior analyst, I audit financial statements of insolvency practitioners and bankrupt companies and conduct trustee audits
- Bachelor of laws (LL.B.) – Université de Montréal
- Member of the Quebec Bar for over 20 years
- 10 years of legal private law practice
- Secretary of the Board of a non-profit charitable organization
Goals
- Correct deficiencies noted in the Audit Report
- Ensure accountability and full transparency for the spending of the Group’s budget allocation
- Ensure Financial Statements are prepared in accordance with PIPSC standards
- To represent CP Group at the National Joint Council (NJC) table where health and dental benefits for the Public Service are negotiated
- Advocate for a blended and flexible suite of health plan benefits that can accommodate the varied priorities and needs of members
- Restore members’ confidence in the Union
