2021 CP Election_Vania Tsang

I am Vania Tsang, the current Commerce and Purchasing (CP, formerly known as AV) Group National Capital Region (NCR) Representative. I have been working in the Department of National Defence (DND) in the NCR for over 10 years. I was the former secretary of the AV Ottawa Subgroup (SG) and current member of the CP Ottawa SG executive. In June 2017, I was presented with the AV Group Executive of the Year award. I have been a positive voice for PIPSC in my workplace. As the labour representative at the DND Carling Campus Workplace Health and Safety Committee, I represent not only PIPSC members, but all union members. I actively encourage my colleagues to participate in lunch and learns and I organized various workplace events such as barbecues and virtual and in-person sessions: providing them with news and updates from PIPSC. As an active steward, my coworkers come to see me when they have issues that they would like the union to address, or just want to know the latest updates and news from PIPSC. My pleasant and approachable personality allowed me to make many new contacts both at work and at the various PIPSC events, including the Regional Council and Annual General Meetings. My goal is to become even more involved with PIPSC by continuing to serve you and represent you as your regional representative. I want to act as a liaison between you and the Group Executive, and promote the best interests of all the members here at the National Capital Region.
