2021 CP Election_Peter Gabriel

Dear fellow members,

After 3 years as your President of the CP Group (CO & PG members), I am seeking your support to be re-elected.

As Group President, I have supported all CO’s and PG’s equally by helping established sub-groups and by creating new sub-groups in the Regions where our members work.

As President and previously Vice-President, in the past 6 years I have led the creation of new sub-groups in St. John's, Moncton, Fredericton, North Vancouver and Toronto, with Halifax coming on-board in 2021! Membership engagement is important to me and next up are new sub-groups in Quebec City and Alberta!

Our current collective bargaining agreement expires in June 2022 and, with your support, I will work hard to lead the negotiation of favourable terms, conditions and wages on behalf of all 6,500 members!

I will consult with and mobilize our membership and collaborate with key stakeholders such as PIPSC HQ and other Groups to achieve better benefits!

My goals:

Raise the professional and educational profile (equivalence) of the CO & PG classifications to achieve higher salaries

Negotiate pay increases, with all members getting the same payouts to fight inflation

Experience:

Group President June 1, 2018 – current

Vice-President June 1, 2015 – May 31, 2018

Bargaining Team since 2015

President Gatineau Sub-group 2013 – current (2,100 members)

Executive PSPC NCR Branch 2013 – current (2,000 members)

PIPSC Steward 2010

Certified Supply Chain Management Professional 2003

What I promise:

Protect our Defined Benefit Pension, fight any government from reducing our pensions

Negotiate collective agreement to guarantee us a salary to fight inflation!

Promote and recruit visible minorities and women on our group executives and as union stewards

Support a PIPSC membership dues freeze next 3 years to protect your take-home pay!

PLEASE VOTE TO RE-ELECT PETER GABRIEL
