2021 CP Election_Jason Huang
Dear CP members:
I have been a PIPSC member for the past 19 years and work for the Canada Border Services Agency as a Senior Program Officer (CO-2). I’m a certified professional account (CPA) with extensive experience in accounting and finance. I was elected as the Treasurer for the CP (formerly AV) group in 2018 and have kept a balanced budget for the group since I was elected.
As a member for the CP bargaining team during the last round of bargaining concluded in May 2019, the bargaining team successfully negotiated pay increases ranged from 7.5% to 9.25% for COs and pay increase of 7.75% for PGs for a 4-year collective agreement which will expire in June 2022.
Qualifications:
- MBA degree from the University of Ottawa (2002)
- Member, Election Compliance Audit Committee, City of Ottawa (2010 – 2014; 2018 – present)
- Member, Election Compliance Audit Committee, Ottawa-Carleton District School Board (OCDSB) (2018 – present)
- Volunteer, CRA Community Volunteer Income Tax Program (CVITP) (2009 – present)
- Treasurer, Condo Corporation OCSCC 962 (2017 – 2019)
Goals / Priorities:
- Union due: union due was last increased in January 2017. I will fight hard to ensure that your union due is maintained at the current level if I am re-elected.
- Bargaining: ensure equal pay increase across all CO and PG members during next round of bargaining.
- Member engagement: encourage and promote members’ participation of union activities and social events.
Thank you for your support!
Jason Huang, CPA, MBA
