2021 CP Election_Andree Doucet

Who am I?  Wife and mother of two, I am originally from Northern Ontario but settled in Gatineau 30 years ago.  I enjoy spending time with my family, including my dogs, staying physically active and being involved with the union.  And just like you, I am a public servant and member of the CP Group.  Elect me as President and I will focus on obtaining:

•        Salary increases commensurate with other similar classifications

•        Sick leave plan that meets all member needs

•        Pension plan protection

•        Opportunities for advancement (transparent staffing processes)

•        Mental health/wellness and work/life balance (including telework options)

•        Group Executive accountability for all decisions

•        Respect of approved budget and transparency on group spending

•        Professionalism, integrity and respect in all communication/interactions with members

My PIPSC experience includes:

-        Active steward (current)

-        CP Group Executive Secretary/Vice-President (current)

-        CP Bargaining Team member (last round)

-        CP Gatineau Sub-Group Vice-President

-        Gatineau Branch Secretary

-        EWSP Review Committee CP representative

As a Bargaining Team member for the last round of negotiations, I enjoyed the challenging but rewarding task, achieving the best results possible for members.  The COVID-19 pandemic has been difficult for everyone but our members have demonstrated extraordinary levels of commitment and effort during this time. The Employer needs to recognize how critical our work is, the difference we make to the country and the Canadian citizens that we serve.  I would love the opportunity to remind them of this in the next bargaining round.

If you want a collaborative, respectful, bilingual President who is willing to listen to member concerns and take action, then I hope you will give me the opportunity.  It would be an honour to represent you. Please vote for me and vote for change.

Stay healthy, safe and positive!

Andree Doucet
