CS Vote 2019 - Dean Corda

Dean Corda - Résumé – for Member-At-Large

Fellow Members,

I am asking for your support so that I may continue to represent you on the National Executive of the Computer Systems Group as a Member-at-Large.  I have been steadfast in my dedication to the Group and our Union both inside and outside of the workplace.

The Labour Relations and Consultation portfolio has been my responsibility during my tenure on your National Executive. In this role I have liaised with the Presidents of Consultation from your Departments to ensure that your interests and the interests of the CS Group are always top of mind when dealing with Management.

Our gains on Article 30, Contracting Out, are already being tested.  The CS Group, through the Contracting Out Action Team, have asked PIPSC to file over 325 grievances against Departmental tenders that we feel should be the work of CS members.  As a part of that team, I ensure that the Presidents of Consultation are aware of these actions as they occur and always remain available to answer any questions.

As a member of the Bargaining Team, I am responsible for accurately capturing the discussion at the negotiating table in order to maintain a reference document.

For you, as a member of the CS Group, I have;

  • Brought your issues and concerns to your national Executive
  • Worked to bring you the best collective agreement possible by developing strategy at the bargaining table
  • Participated on the Contract Proposals Committee
  • Answered your questions with regard to your collective agreement and benefits package
  • Presented Lunch & Learn Sessions and Bargaining Updates around Ontario
  • Attended Sub-Group AGMs as an Ontario rep from the CS Group Executive
  • Met with Stewards and members from coast-to-coast
  • Contributed to a better workplace through Consultation at the National level within ESDC

Please support your Bargaining Team by showing off your CS Group items whenever we meet with Treasury Board. Posting photos on social media makes a difference and is most definitely noticed by management!  Meeting dates can be found at www.pipsc.ca.

I encourage you to exercise your right to vote, speak with your ballot and participate in Your Union.

In Solidarity,

Dean Corda

Proudly CS Since 2001
