Your MP Bargaining Team is pleased to announce that on May 15, 2025, we reached a tentative agreement with the Regional Cancer Centres Employer Association.
Since April, your MP Bargaining Team has been meeting with the RCCEA to negotiate the renewal of your collective agreement. We are pleased to share details of the tentative agreement, which concludes this round of collective bargaining.
Highlights of this tentative agreement include:
- 16.4% wage increase over 5 years for all members (Medical Physics Residents, Medical Physicists, and Senior Medical Physicists)
- On top of the 16.4% wage increase, a 10.69% market increase for Medical Physicists
- Doubling of the professional allowance to $7,000 per year
- Vacation improvements
- A commitment to address concerns around the lack of transparency and standardization for the Senior Medical Physicist role, with arbitration available if there is disagreement
- Recognition of cumulative (rather than continuous) service in the bargaining unit
This agreement must now be ratified by the MP Group membership. An electronic vote will be held in order to ratify this agreement. All regular members in good standing of MP will receive the voting instructions by email.
Voting will be open from 8 AM ET on May 30th to 12 PM ET on June 6. You will receive voting instructions via email.
You will find all the information about the tentative agreement below. It is important that you take the time to review everything prior to voting and prior to asking questions to the Bargaining Team.
We will also be holding Zoom information sessions on May 28, 2025 at noon, and May 29, 2025 at noon.

A “Yes” vote means: You are accepting all of the changes proposed in the tentative agreement. Non-monetary changes will take place on the date of signing.
A “No” vote means: You reject the tentative agreement and instruct the MP Bargaining Team to pursue further negotiations, with a high likelihood of heading to arbitration.
The MP Bargaining Team believes we accomplished the best deal possible, and we unanimously recommend accepting this tentative agreement.
