We are well underway in a new round of bargaining with the Treasury Board Secretariat. All of our preparations – bargaining team formation, bargaining survey, proposals committee meetings, and development of our proposals package – lead us to the next phase of negotiations: meeting with the employer to negotiate a new collective agreement.
The IT Group has agreed with the Treasury Board to exchange proposals on January 20, 2026. Please find below the link to both proposal documents.
In order to share information and context on our proposals for this bargaining round, we invite you to attend one of virtual information sessions on the following dates:

Your Bargaining Team will meet with the employer for the first session of negotiations on February 11 and 12, 2026.
As is normal in negotiations, we will discuss non-monetary issues before we discuss salary. We are currently working with PIPSC researchers and economists to develop our pay proposal. We will share the details of our pay proposal with you soon after we table it with the Treasury Board.
In keeping with our past practices, we will send you an IT Bytes email update after each bargaining session and whenever an important matter arises. Your interest and feedback are always appreciated.
Support for your negotiations team, from each and every one of you, is critical to our success at the bargaining table. During this round, your National IT Executive, the National Organizing Committee, the Regional Organizing Committee, and local sub-groups will ask you to demonstrate your support.
No act of support is too small. Everything you do – showing your IT colours, posting articles or pictures on social media, or attending information sessions and rallies – is an essential part of the IT Group’s effort to succeed in our negotiations.
We will hold virtual rallies via Zoom on February 11 and 12 to support negotiations, so please attend. Stay tuned for further details.
In solidarity,
Robert Scott
President and Bargaining Officer, IT Group, PIPSC
