Our Collective Agreement will expire March 31st , 2026, and we are starting to prepare
now for our next round of bargaining. Bargaining is a great way to get involved in your
union and help make FNHA an even better place to work!
The Executive Team is tasked with creating the bargaining team, and we aim to have
representation from a wide range of professional groups that form part of our union. We
welcome all of our colleagues to consider this opportunity and especially encourage our
Indigenous colleagues to join the team and ensure their voices are heard and reflected
in our shared Collective Agreement.
Timeline and What to Expect
The Bargaining Team shall be formed before the end of summer, and preparation will
begin in early fall. Starting in September 2025, the Bargaining Team will meet regularly
as we prepare to meet with the Employer, at the bargaining table, in 2026.
Bargaining prep will be done predominantly online with some in-person meetings. Once
bargaining begins, meetings will be in-person with the employer and they generally
occur over the span of 1 week at a time. Travel throughout the bargaining process is
necessary and there is no way to predict when bargaining will conclude.
- In-person meetings will occur in Vancouver
- Travel, expenses, and wages for missed work are reimbursed by PIPSC
Bargaining is an opportunity to build strong bonds with colleagues and also strengthen
our shared relationship with the Employer. Bargaining is challenging and rewarding and
can take any number of months to complete. We aim to find members who can commit
to the process from start to finish; availability and flexibility are important.
How to Express Interest
If you would like to be considered for a spot on the Bargaining Team, please send an
email to: Lacey.Woloshyn@pipsc.ca by Monday June 30th, 2025, and answer the
following questions:
- Tell us a bit about yourself; who are you, what is your role at FNHA (including your classification and title) and what department / team do you work with
- Why do you think you would be a great addition to the bargaining team
- Share if there are any workplace issues you are exceptionally knowledgeable about / interested in
- Share any relevant experience, including bargaining, member representation or committee work
- Confirm if you able to travel to Vancouver for a week at a time during the bargaining process
We are committed to representing all our members and creating opportunities for
everyone to participate in our group. If you’re a member of an equity-seeking group, please feel free to self-declare.
If you aren’t interested in a role on the bargaining team, please be assured that all
members will have the chance to express their concerns through the bargaining survey
process.
Thank you!
Sincerely,
Lacey Woloshyn
BCFNHA Executive; President
