AGM POSTPONEMENT

Given the health measures introduced by the Quebec government to slow the transmission of the Covid-19 virus, we inform you that the AGM of the Eastern Quebec Branch, which was to be held on January 18 at the Ketch restaurant in Ste-Flavie is postponed to February 15, 2022, at the same place.

In the event that the measures are still in place, the AGM will take place virtually the following Tuesday, February 22, 2022. The Zoom link for this meeting will then be sent to those who have registered.

2021-2022 Annual General Meeting

Tuesday, January 18th, 2022 – 6:00 p.m.

Notice of Meeting :

We are pleased to invite you to the 2021-2022 AGM of the PIPSC Eastern Quebec Branch.

Members are invited to a reception starting at 5:00 p.m. A meal will be served prior to the AGM

Please note that according to the current public health obligations of the Government of Quebec and a decision of the Institute's Board of Directors, your "Proof of COVID-19 vaccination" and photo identification will be requested at the door for allow you to attend the AGM in person.

Come and help us make sure that PIPSC is your union and that it works for you. We hope to see many of you at Le Ketch.

There are therefore currently five positions available on the board and not necessarily those identified as such.

Nominations will be accepted on-site during the AGM. If you can not be present on the evening of the AGM, but you want to get involved in the executive, send your name and the position for which you are applying to M. Benoit Pelletier bpelletier@pipsc.ca . If a vote is required, then a secret ballot will be held at the AGM. Your Executive needs additional support in order to maintain continuity for the Québec East Branch. We welcome everyone!

The Executive’s role is to exercise the authority of and act on behalf of the Branch between general meetings of the Branch. The aim of the Branch is to represent Branch interests, to provide a forum for the discussion of Institute affairs, to administer the By-Laws, to make recommendations to Regional Council and to the Institute on topics or matters within the objectives of the Institute, and to nominate delegates to Regional Council and Institute meetings in accordance with the By-Laws of those constituent bodies. 

Essentially, the members of the chapter executive play the role of a transmission belt between the Institute, the executive of the Quebec region and the members of the Eastern Quebec Branch. They inform the members of the strategies, solutions, concerns and priorities identified at the level of the Institute and the executive of the Quebec Region and forward to them the questions, concerns, problems formulated by you, the members of our Branch. Be a part of it!

According to our By-Laws, Executive members serve a three-year team. The Branch Executive meets as frequently as is required, but at least three times a year and no more than six times a year.
