Minutes:

  • 28 members at AGM (2023-09-15); good turnout; some problems with translation & email getting sent out by PIPSC but we used our own distribution list
  • Some problems with budget because didn’t get funds
  • Need to wait to receive our funds
  • Will still have Christmas dinner for Executive
  • Steward event in late winter or spring
  • Next AGM will be in May 2024; COVID had pushed things back
  • Budget:
    • 2022 & 2023 financial were prepared based on expenses incurred and bank expenses incurred and bank statements provided by PIPSC finance
    • Action Items: Have the signature cards updated by the newly elected Treasurer
    • Contact PIPSC finance if assistance is required to unlock bank account
    • It was suggested by PIPSC that we can donate some money to the food bank (up to $X,XXX) as has been done in previous years.
    • It would be recommended to spend approximately $X,XXX on various items such as swag, or hosting a membership engagement event, in order to increase expenses and thus, allowing the Branch to obtain the full $X,XXX allotment for 2024.
    • Dan Guthrie made a motion to attempt to correct 2021 and 2022 financials, to obtain the maximum allotments. Seconded by Troy.
    • Discussed also on ways to mobilize members in our community to be more involved
  • Options for spending: t-shirt with RESPECT; orange shirt day; food bank; money towards Kingston Branch area awareness t-shirts or jackets for Executive; other events; PIPSC swag; Yeti containers: 40 (or 50 if cheaper) for AGM (McCormick’s – Troy can look into distributor; Ryan will look into another quote) with Kingston Branch logo engraved on it.

Christmas party: Friday December 15; The Keg

  • Adjourned at 7: 26 pm.
