President’s Report for the Ottawa Centreville Branch (OCB) for the 2018-19 Year

By Brian Hassall

2018-2019 has been yet another successful year. The aim of the Branch is to represent Branch interests; to provide a forum for the discussion of Institute affairs; to administer this Constitution and By-Laws; to make recommendations to Regional Council and to the Institute on topics or matters within the objectives of the Institute, and to nominate delegates to Regional Council and Institute meetings in accordance with the Constitutions and By-Laws of those constituent bodies.

We are cognizant that our Branch has a diverse demographic of constituents, so we do our best to hold events that can reach as many members as possible. This can be seen with the variety of events we held over the past year.  From our signature Family Get Together events at the Ottawa Wave Pool, to our Retirement Planning Sessions, to our iconic BBQs in the summer; we are holding events that are well attended and appeal to our members.  We also showed innovation in trying a new steward appreciation event that was a Murder Mystery at the Prescott which was well received by our valued Stewards.

The executive and I want to do the most for our members in the most fiscal way possible.  We encourage you to come out and network with others.
