Following the job evaluation stage (to assign a numerical value to all jobs), carried out by the pay equity committee's consultant, Mercer, the committee is currently finalizing the validation of these evaluations to ensure the rigour and consistency of the process.

There are still a few compensation elements to be calculated in order to determine the
hourly wage for all jobs. As these two steps have taken longer than anticipated, the employer has submitted a
request to the Office of the Pay Equity Commissioner to extend the timeline for our work
until 31 August 2027.

As a reminder, any compensation paid at the end of the pay equity work will be calculated from 4 September 2024, with retroactive interest. The committee will soon consider the comparison method to be adopted. This method will be used to process the values (in figures) and hourly compensation (in pounds) of male- and female-dominated jobs in order to determine whether there is a pay gap that needs to be corrected and, if so, the amount of the correction.
