Bargaining with Niagara Health is underway.
Thank you to all of the members who completed the bargaining survey earlier this year. Your level of participation and written comments are encouraging!
Your continued support and engagement is essential in helping us draft proposals and determine priorities for this round of bargaining.
Over the summer your Bargaining team completed bargaining training and held several days of meetings to finalize our bargaining proposals. Now that the collective agreement with Hamilton Health Sciences has been finalized, we have commenced bargaining with Niagara Health. We recognize these circumstances are not ideal, delays have been substantial, and we appreciate your patience.
This promises to be a complex round of negotiations, as PIPSC has joined other unions in filing a legal challenge of the provincial government’s wage cap and pandemic pay regulations. You deserve to be recognized for your work throughout the COVID-19 crisis, alongside our hospital colleagues who have been granted pandemic pay.
Following several days of meetings to finalize our proposals, the PIPSC Walker Family Cancer Centre Radiation Therapists (WFCC-RT) bargaining team met with the hospital’s team on October 7, 2021, and exchanged proposals.
Bargaining sessions with the hospital are scheduled for October 21 and 22, and November 2 and 3, 2021.
We are committed to keeping you informed on our progress with regular updates.
We appreciate the time and effort you took to complete the bargaining survey and check in with the bargaining team. Your participation and input are valued.
