In January 2024, the PIPSC Bargaining Team met with NRC management representatives over six days at the bargaining table to get you the best collective agreement possible. We pursued our negotiations in February 2024 as well.

I am pleased to share that we now have a signed tentative agreement.

We are happy and proud to report that we made great strides in improving your working conditions.

Here are some highlights of our major gains:

  • 12.5% increase in pay over 4 years
  • $2,500 signing bonus
  • Vacation improvements (5 weeks of vacation as of the 17th year instead of the 18th)
  • A new letter of agreement on telework
  • Other gains include improved access to domestic violence leave, the addition of bereavement leave for stillbirth, and leave for traditional Indigenous practices.

Full details of the agreement will be provided in a ratification package, which will be emailed to you and posted to our group page. We will also host information sessions to discuss the details of this tentative agreement and answer any questions you might have.

The voting period will be opened once you receive the tentative agreement. Your bargaining team recommends voting “YES” to the deal. The finish line is finally in sight, and we need your support and solidarity to carry us across it.
