The NEB Group is pleased to announce that our members have voted to accept the tentative agreement reached with the Employer on November 22, 2023.

As you know, on November 22, 2023, we reached a tentative agreement with the Canada Energy Regulator to conclude this round of collective bargaining.  We believe we have reached the best deal possible in what has been a challenging round of negotiations.

Bargaining update : We have a tentative agreement!

The seventh bargaining session was scheduled for 22 – 24 August 2023 and your team came prepared, as always, for detailed discussions with the employer.

The PIPSC NEB Group's AGM will be held both virtually and in-person at the CER’s Conference Centre on December 5, 2023 at 12PM MT. A pizza lunch will be served. (Gluten-free pizza and salad will also be served).

Your bargaining team has had a busy spring meeting with the employer for 2 separate sessions of in–person negotiations, from May 8 to 11 for our fifth session, and from June 27 to 28 for our sixth session.

Your bargaining team met with the employer from March 7 – 9 for our fourth session of in-person negotiations.

Your bargaining team met with the employer from January 30– February 1 for our third session of in-person negotiations. 

Your bargaining team met with the employer on December 6-8 for the second session of negotiations. Both sides presented their responses to the initial non-monetary proposals made in the first session.

Your bargaining team met with the employer for the first session of negotiations in early November.

We are pleased to announce that the NEB group has ratified the collective agreement. Just as we have completed our ratification process, the Employer is concurrently engaging in its ratification process.

Your Collective Agreement expired October 31st 2018; the following is a confidential bargaining questionnaire to assist in formulating the issues to be addressed during the ongoing round of Negotiations. Your cooperation is greatly appreciated and is essential to help your Negotiating Team draft bargaining proposals.

The deadline for the Employer to process your retroactive pay was May 12, 2018 and has now passed. If you have not received your retroactive pay, you should immediately fill out a Phoenix Feedback Form, contact your Employer’s Human Resources Department, and contact our dedicated PIPSC Phoenix staff about filing a grievance.

Your Bargaining Team continues to work with the Employer on implementing the new Collective Agreement and will continue to keep the members informed of any developments as they occur.

At long last the Collective Agreement has been signed by all parties. The Agreement was signed January 12, 2018 covering the period of November 1, 2014 to October 31, 2018.

On December 15, 2017 the Collective Agreement was approved by the Governor General in Council. All parties have now approved the Agreement and will be scheduling a date for signing early in the new year.

As you are aware, your Bargaining Team worked diligently to reach a Tentative Agreement in renewal of your Collective Agreement on June 9, 2017. This Tentative Agreement was then ratified by the membership in July.

The results are in - the Tentative Agreement reached between the PIPSC - NEB Group bargaining team and the Employer was ratified by the membership. Over 240 members participated in the vote, with a result of 97.9% in favour.

The following is a summary of the tentative agreement reached between the Institute and the National Energy Board regarding the NEB Group on June 9, 2017. This tentative agreement must be ratified by the members of the NEB Group to become final.
