Dear Members,
As the holiday season approaches, I want to extend my warmest wishes to you and your loved ones. This is a time to pause, recharge, and reflect on the strength and dedication that define our community.
We also recognize that this year brings challenges, with budget reductions creating uncertainty across the Federal Public Service. While these changes are not easy, please know that we remain focused on supporting you and working together to navigate what lies ahead. Our collective resilience and professionalism will continue to be our greatest strength.
Thank you for everything you do. Wishing you peace, joy, and well-deserved rest this holiday season—and confidence as we step into the new year together.
In solidarity,
Andrée Doucet
President, Commerce and Purchasing Group
Bargaining Update
Your collective agreement ends on June 21, 2026.
In preparation for the upcoming round of negotiations, a new CP Group bargaining team has been selected, and they participated in a core public service administration bargaining training session held from September 9th to 11th in Ottawa. To help members understand the bargaining process, five bargaining information sessions were held throughout October. The CP Group Bargaining Survey was issued to members on November 19th and closed on December 19th. We will release the survey results in January, at which time we will be asking members to vote on a dispute resolution method. The CP Group bargaining conference will take place in February 2026 where proposal development will begin, and we anticipate serving the notice to bargain to the employer prior to June 22, 2026.
The CP Group has been assigned a new Negotiator from PIPSC, Rukiya Mohamed Nur, an experienced mediator, negotiator, and researcher who specializes in labour and employment relations.
