The CFIA-IN bargaining team is pleased to announce that CFIA and PIPSC signed the new collective agreement on December 23, 2020 covering the period of June 1, 2018, through to May 31, 2022.
The employer now has 180 days from December 23, 2020 to pay retroactivity and implement new salary rates, or 560 days in cases where manual processing is required (these are limited and specific circumstances). All members will receive a one-time payment of $500 for this extended implementation period.

PIPSC and CFIA have agreed to an implementation date of February 1, 2021 for the improvements to the Parental Allowance provisions. We will be providing more information on this in coming weeks, including maternity/parental specific information sessions early in the new year.
We appreciate the commitment and efforts made by both sides to reach a fair collective agreement for our membership. We look forward to the agreement’s implementation and are optimistic that CFIA will meet the timeframes contained in the agreement.
