The BCFNHA Group is proud to share our new logo, designed by Cori Johnson.
Cori Johnson is a Gitxsan artist who has practiced her traditional art from a young age. She was mentored by a traditional artist from her home community in Hazelton, BC. She was also mentored by an artist within the Lheidli T'enneh territory for several years. She is part of the Wolf Clan, which is known as Laxgibuu in her Gitxsan language.
This logo was designed in collaboration with Cori and PIPSC BCFNHA Group members to represent the high-quality work and collaboration we aim to achieve. The Wolf in the image represents leadership and teamwork. Each wolf pack member has an important role to play, and they rely on each other for security and safety. The Thunderbird represents power, strength, direction, and evolving changes. The Thunderbird is a powerful symbol of transformation.
In the logo, the Wolf and Thunderbird sit together in the canoe. They travel together as one and work together towards a common goal.
We are grateful for Cori’s partnership and the thoughtfulness and care she put into this work. This beautiful logo and its meaning guide our group's current work and represent our vision ahead. We look forward to incorporating the logo in our group’s materials and visibility items and sharing it with pride as BCFNHA Group members.
