It takes experts
Federal public service experts help keep Canadians safe, advance science, protect our environment, maintain critical infrastructure and deliver the services people rely on. Cuts, poor workforce planning and other government decisions risk weakening the expertise Canada needs to meet its ambitions and build a stronger, more resilient country. A strong Canada takes experts. Canada’s experts deserve a fair deal.
What is collective bargaining
Collective bargaining is how unions and employers negotiate agreements on pay, benefits and working conditions.
PIPSC brings members’ priorities and solutions to the bargaining table. Fair agreements help ensure professionals have the support and working conditions they need to do their jobs and deliver results for Canadians.
Telework
Different work has different needs. Presence with purpose gives employees and managers the flexibility to organize work around operational needs and where it can be done best. Presence when it matters, flexibility when it works, and results for Canadians.
Fair pay
Canada competes for skilled professionals. We need competitive pay helps attract and retain the experts needed to deliver public services and strengthen the country.
AI protections
Canada’s AI ambitions depend on the experts who put it to work. Responsible AI needs expert oversight, accountability, and a voice for professionals on how it is introduced and used.
Work Force Adjustment protections
When jobs are affected, members need fair options and meaningful protections. We need strong work force adjustment measures that help retain valuable expertise in the public service.
Harassment
Strong public institutions need safe, respectful workplaces where experts can stay, contribute, and do their best work.
Sick leave and other benefits
Fair protections help public service professionals stay healthy, productive and able to build long careers serving Canadians.
