PIPSC Pride Webinar 2026

Deadline to RSVP: June 22, 2026

In celebration of Pride Month, PIPSC is hosting a webinar on June 25, 2026, to educate members about the federal government’s “LGBT Purge” and the ongoing challenges and resilience of 2SLGBTQIA+ communities.

Between the 1950s and mid-1990s, 2SLGBTQIA+ members of the Canadian Armed Forces, the RCMP, and the federal public service were systematically discriminated against, harassed, and often fired in what came to be known as the “LGBT Purge”. Workers were followed, interrogated, abused, and traumatized.

This Pride Month, we invite members to a webinar about the experiences of 2SLGBTQIA+ workers in the federal government. Simultaneous interpretation will be provided in English and French.

When: June 25, 2026, at 1:00 PM ET
Where: Zoom

Meeting ID: 948 0548 4959
Passcode: 31159

Panelists include LGBT Purge survivor France Bergeron from the Canadian Armed Forces and retired Navy Commander Treena Scurlock.

Together, let’s honour Pride Month – not just as a celebration, but as a call to action for ongoing progress.
