Purpose: 

Your Executive Committee is pleased to announce the start of the 2026 election period. The call for nominations will be distributed by email on September 15, 2026. Members will have until September 29, 2026, to submit their nomination forms.

Positions up for Election in 2026

The NRC-RO/RCO Group executive is seeking nominations for the following positions:

  • 8 Member-at-Large positions (6 members for a 2-year term and 2 members for a 1-year term)

Roles and Responsibilities of an Executive Committee Member

Our strength is in our members’ engagement. By taking a leadership role in our union

community, you will steer PIPSC toward the goals of improving our members’ lives and making

progress on issues that matter most to us and the broader labour movement in Canada.

In your role as an elected official, will help:

  • further the professional interests of the members;
  • protect the status and standards of our profession;
  • represent the views of the members on matters affecting them; and
  • ensure that the interests of the Group are represented in all proceedings of the employer and of the union.

Elected officials will be required to:

  • assume Officer portfolios;
  • attend the NRC-RO/RCO and PIPSC AGMs;
  • meet approximately 6 times per year, in person or via Zoom (meetings may take place on weekdays, weekends, and evenings).

Experience:

The NRC-RO/RCO Group is looking for candidates that have significant previous union experience and a good working knowledge of the NRC-RO/RCO Collective Agreement and PIPSC. These are volunteer positions requiring a commitment to perform duties both at times during and outside of your normal public service work hours.

ELECTION PROCEDURE

The nomination and election process is governed by NRC-RO/RCO bylaws, Article 7.1 to 7.3.6.

Here is a summary the criteria required:

  • Nominations must be supported by at least two NRC-RO/RCO members
  • Candidates are to submit their biography in both official languages.
