PIPSC’s Young Professionals Committee (YPC) invites members to provide feedback about how the committee can better engage and represent young professionals (members under 40) in the union.

The YPC is an ad hoc committee of the PIPSC Board of Directors. It consists of committee chairs from 6 regional Young Professionals Committees and the PIPSC Board Liaison for the Canadian Labour Congress (CLC) Young Workers’ Advisory Committee.

The YPC meets 4 times a year in person and virtually. The committee aims to inform the board about young professionals’ views of their union, workplace issues, and obstacles to participating in their union.

Other objectives include:

  • advocate for the representation of young professionals at all constituent bodies, committees, and consultation teams
  • improve collaboration, communication, and engagement among the regions
  • champion young professionals’ involvement in PIPSC, such as steward recruitment, member engagement, and mentorship opportunities

Please provide input to your regional committee chair. If you have any questions, please contact ypnleaders@pipsc.ca.
