This FAQ is for PIPSC members appointed for a specified period (term employees) in the core public administration, where the Treasury Board is the employer. Members employed by separate agencies, such as the Canada Revenue Agency, the Canadian Food Inspection Agency or the National Research Council, are covered by their own collective agreements and employer policies. These may differ from those described here. Clause numbers and some details vary by group. Always check your own collective agreement. An expired collective agreement remains in effect until a new agreement is signed. This FAQ provides general information. It does not replace your collective agreement, the legislation, or advice from your PIPSC representative.
