Bargaining Update #1 – NRC Central Table

Published | Last updated 2 hours ago

We are writing to update you on recent and upcoming activities as we prepare for the next round of bargaining for NRC groups.

February 2026 – Training
In early February, members of the bargaining team participated in bargaining training on February 3 and 4, building a strong foundation for the work ahead.

March 2026 – Bargaining planning
We held our first bargaining preparation sessions on March 11 and 12 with the RO/RCO, TR, and IS. Discussions focused on key priorities, including the development of the bargaining survey, workforce adjustment (WFA), and strategies to strengthen member engagement.

May 2026 – Keep an eye out for the bargaining survey
The bargaining survey will launch in late May 2026. This is an important opportunity for members to share priorities and help shape our proposals.

June 2026 – Notice to Bargain
We will serve the Notice to Bargain to the Employer on June 1, 2026, formally initiating the bargaining process.

How we are supporting members
To support members, we are planning a “Bargaining 101” session to provide an overview of the process and what to expect. We are also exploring a WFA-focused webinar in the coming weeks to address questions related to workforce adjustment.

Volunteer – NRC-LS bargaining team members needed
We are currently seeking members to join the NRC-LS bargaining team. If you are interested, please email rmohamednur@pipsc.ca.

More information will be shared in the coming weeks. In the meantime, we encourage members to stay engaged and take advantage of upcoming opportunities to participate.

In solidarity,

Rukiya Mohamed Nur

Negotiator, PIPSC
On behalf of the NRC-RO/RCO, NRC-IS, NRC-TR, and NRC-LS Bargaining Teams
