Your RE Bargaining Team has been actively preparing for the next round of negotiations.
In September, the RE Bargaining Team participated in comprehensive negotiations training alongside other PIPSC core public service bargaining teams and selected agencies. This training ensured all teams entered this round with a consistent foundation of knowledge and preparation.
In October, we developed and launched our bargaining survey, which was open to RE members from November through December. We heard, in addition to other issues, that members continue to face challenges with:
- Rising cost of living and lagging salaries
- Navigating return-to-office mandates and restrictive telework policies
- Increasing administrative burden
- Barriers to conference attendance
- Access to adequate leave provisions
- Maintaining a healthy work-life balance
With these priorities in hand, we began developing our proposal package. The team has been meeting virtually to refine our proposals. We are also working closely with PIPSC research staff to conduct an in-depth pay analysis across all RE classifications to ensure our compensation proposals are evidence-based and competitive.
In June, the RE Bargaining Team will serve formal notice to bargain. It is our intent to begin active negotiations in early fall.
A strong mandate at the bargaining table depends on an informed and engaged membership. You can support your bargaining team by:
- Displaying an RE Group Teams background
- Wearing or displaying RE Group swag you may have
- Reading bargaining updates and sharing information with fellow members
Our collective strength is our greatest asset at the bargaining table. Thank you for your continued support and engagement.
