Where: We will meet at the National Aboriginal Veterans Monument in Confederation Park, across from the Lord Elgin Hotel (100 Elgin Street, Ottawa), and walk to Parliament Hill.

Please RSVP here by September 19, 2026. This helps us plan for the event.

Our commemoration begins with an Indigenous prayer and smudging ceremony at Confederation Park, followed by a walk to Parliament Hill for the live APTN broadcast with speakers from the National Centre for Truth and Reconciliation (NCTR).

We have a limited number of orange sweatshirts and T-shirts. If you already have an orange PIPSC sweatshirt, please wear it to the event, weather permitting.

Light snacks and water will be available for members and staff taking part. We will be sitting on the Parliament Hill lawn, so please bring a blanket or lawn chair if you need one.

Please note that expenses for this event are not eligible for reimbursement.

For more information about the event on Parliament Hill, including a link to the live broadcast at 12:00 PM on September 30, please visit the NCTR’s website.
