The Commerce and Purchasing (CP) Group has officially begun a new round of collective bargaining.
Our collective agreement expired on June 21, 2026. We served Notice to Bargain with the Treasury Board Secretariat at the end of May, and our Bargaining Team is scheduled to meet with the employer for the first time in late August.
As negotiations begin, member engagement and solidarity will be essential to achieving a fair collective agreement that reflects your priorities.
To support the Bargaining Team throughout negotiations, we are creating a CP Group Bargaining Mobilization Committee and seeking volunteers from across the country.
What does the Mobilization Committee do?
The committee works alongside the Bargaining Team to help keep members informed, engaged and united throughout negotiations.
As a volunteer, you may:
- share bargaining updates with members
- support communication and engagement initiatives
- help organize or participate in virtual or in-person mobilization activities
- encourage members to stay informed and involved
- share ideas and feedback to strengthen our outreach efforts
Whether this is your first time getting involved or you have previous union experience, we would love to hear from you.
Who can volunteer?
We are looking for members from all regions, departments, and from both CP Group classifications (CO and PG).
We are looking for members who:
- want to support their colleagues
- enjoy working collaboratively as part of a team
- can commit some time throughout the bargaining process
- want to help build a strong, informed, and engaged membership
No previous bargaining or mobilization experience is required.
How to volunteer:
Email cp_barg@pipsc.ca by August 14, 2026, and include:
- your name
- your department or agency
- your region
- your classification (CO or PG)
- a short statement explaining why you would like to join the committee
Together, we can build the momentum needed to support our Bargaining Team and negotiate the best possible collective agreement for all CP Group members.
Thank you for your continued support. We look forward to working with members from across the country throughout this important round of bargaining.
