Roy Philip, Delores Sui, Stan Buday and Mathan Mahalingam are in the 2nd year of a 2-year term.

Additional member-at-large nominations were not received from the floor.

Nuşin Brown, Vini Khurana, Nathanael Mathi, Yu Gao and Lalita Jeethan were re-elected.

Executive positions will be decided upon at the Strategic Planning Meeting.

Elections 2027 will require a ballot for President and 4 members-at-large.

PIPSC Ontario Region Director John Purdie: John talked about the various Committees and Task Forces in Ontario Region.

The purpose of WFA is not to reduce the work force, it’s to sustain employment.

AI has been an issue. GM will no longer hire entry level engineers. AI can now do their jobs.

The Legacy Foundation raises money to offer scholarships. 200K in scholarships will be available. PIPSC is hoping to make an impact and improve lives of member families.

Events coming up: The PIPSC AGM will be a 2-day event to be held November 27-28, 2026

at the Rogers Center in Ottawa. A lot of important decisions are taken at the AGM.
The ORC is coming up next week. Elections will be held.

The Labor Day parade is being worked on.

Steward Council will take place September 18-19, 2026, at the White Oaks Resort.

Basic and Advanced Steward Training will be offered in various locations such as Kingston, Kitchener and Hamilton to make the training more accessible.

A question-and-answer period was held. John also provided his contact information.

PIPSC President Sean O’Reilly: Sean O’Reilly talked about member services offered by PIPSC. The new PIPSC website is still a work in progress.

Key services our members deliver affect all Canadians. WFA has been personal; members have been asked to make decisions with incomplete information. PIPSC now has a dedicated WFA task force as the process is complicated.

ERI will bring an erosion of the public service. A lot of experience will be lost. These cuts will hurt Canadians. The window for ERI is very small. It is better to opt for alternation before signing any waivers.

PIPSC is a non-Partisan union. We fight smart. An unfair labor practice has been filed against the 4 days in office mandate.

We all need to support the rallies being held for other groups. We need to stand together, members supporting each other. The union is fighting for all members.

Adjournment:

A draw was made for door prizes.

Kuini Chuen thanked everyone for attending the AGM and made a motion to adjourn. Nicole Henshaw seconded. Meeting was adjourned at 8:30 pm.
