This year marked the debut of the Halifax Branch Awards and Recognition Committee, established to recognize the outstanding contributions of our local stewards and executive members.
For our inaugural award, we accepted nominations for the Halifax Branch Executive of the Year, and we are incredibly honoured to present this distinction to Lori Thistle.
Lori is the definition of a dedicated advocate. Even while navigating serious health challenges this past year, her commitment never wavered—she continued to show up consistently for both the Halifax Branch and her local sub-group. Beyond her tireless work planning and promoting PIPSC events, Lori serves as an invaluable mentor to her fellow executive members.
Lori’s exceptional leadership has not gone unnoticed. Lori was also recently recognized at the Atlantic Regional Council as the Atlantic Region Executive of the Year. We are immensely fortunate to have such a dedicated PIPSC representative here in Halifax.
The Halifax Branch Awards and Recognition Committee extends its warmest congratulations to Lori on this double honor. We look forward to officially presenting her with the Halifax Branch Executive of the Year Award at our upcoming AGM.
