Hello,
From April 27–29 and May 25-27, the CP Group bargaining team met to prepare for the next round of collective agreement negotiations, ahead of the current agreement’s expiry on June 21, 2026
During these sessions, the team:
- Reviewed bargaining priorities based on member survey responses (November 19, 2025) and feedback from the bargaining conference held on February 28, 2026.
- Examined outstanding proposals from the previous round of negotiations.
- Assessed proposals developed during the recent bargaining conference.
- Reviewed draft proposals from other public service unions, as well as from PIPSC bargaining units, to support alignment and consistency where appropriate.
- Considered common issues applicable to all PIPSC bargaining units.
- Received a presentation on the Essential Services Agreement, equipping the team with key information that will be important as we move forward on the conciliation route.
- Finalized our bargaining demands.
- Submitted the Notice to Bargain.
The team will reconvene at the end of August to discuss monetary priorities. We are waiting for the Employer to confirm dates to exchange our Book of Proposals. The CP Book of Proposals and the Employer’s Book of Proposals will be shared with members once they are exchanged.
We recognize that the bargaining process can be frustrating at times. The team remains committed to representing your interests and working toward a new collective agreement that reflects the priorities identified by members. In the Fall, we will be hosting town halls to provide updates, share key information, and hear directly from you.
The strength of the bargaining team at the table depends on member engagement and support, and we encourage you to participate in these sessions.
