Hello everyone,
I wanted to take a moment to say hello.
Thank you to everyone who attended the AGM, and thank you for the trust you placed in me by electing me as Vice-President of the IT Ottawa-Metro Sub-Group. I’m grateful for the opportunity to serve and I’m looking forward to working with both the executive team and members across our region.
Over the coming term, my focus will be on three things:
• Strengthening member engagement
• Improving communication and transparency
• Making sure our union’s energy is directed where it belongs: improving members’ working conditions and protecting our profession
As someone who works in IT, I also believe strongly in regular maintenance and patching. If something isn’t working well, we should identify it, fix it, and improve it.
Union work succeeds when members step forward and contribute their time and energy. I’m ready to do that, and I’m honoured to serve.
If you have ideas, concerns, or suggestions for things the sub-group could improve or work on, I would genuinely love to hear from you.
Quick question: If there is one thing the union could do better for IT members right now, what would it be?
Even a short reply is welcome.
Looking forward to connecting with many of you over the coming months.
In solidarity,
