RTO Solidarity Lunch: May the curds be with you!

On May 4, we’re showing up – together – to push back against the federal government’s return-to-office (RTO) mandate.

This isn’t about just one more day in the office. This is about working conditions and respect for the people who provide the public services Canadians rely on. This is about the lack of meaningful consultations. We’re standing with all colleagues in Ottawa to show that this mandate isn’t working for anyone.

Join us for a “presence with purpose” lunch in solidarity with fellow members.

We’ll be at Lou’s Food Truck handing out free poutine and fries until we run out. Bring your coworkers, stop by during your lunch break, and be part of a visible show of support.

When: Monday, May 4, 2026, from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM

Where: Lou’s Food Truck, Kent Street near Slater Street, Ottawa, ON.

RSVP

No matter where you stand on RTO, this impacts more than just where we do our work. We want the biggest employer in Canada to be a model employer. One where:

  • telework agreements help diversify the workforce, so our public service truly reflects the geography and demographics of Canada
  • evidence-based decision-making is the standard, so the employer stops putting politics over strengthening public services
  • employer and employee relationships are respectful, consultative and transparent, so we can continue to deliver our best while trusting that our employer has our back

If you can’t make it on May 4, you can still take action against RTO by sending your MP a message: https://pipsc.ca/take-action-pause-the-return-to-office-mandate-now/

If you have any questions, please email bettertogether@pipsc.ca.
