a manager, workload problems, schedule changes)
  • You believe your rights under the collective agreement are being violated

Your journey with a steward

Reaching out to a PIPSC steward means receiving guidance and support tailored to your case. Here’s an overview of what the process may look like.

You’ll meet with the steward to discuss your concern privately. They’ll ask questions, listen carefully, and explain your rights and options.

The steward may gather additional information, review the collective agreement, or consult with other union reps to understand the full picture.

Together, you’ll determine the best course of action. This could include informal resolution, a formal complaint, or filing a grievance.

Your steward may represent you at a grievance hearing, help you prepare documentation, or liaise with management/union staff on your behalf.

After the issue is addressed, the steward may follow up to ensure the resolution is implemented and to check in on your case.

How to prepare for your conversation
