Initiation of Bargaining Process and Next Steps

Published | Last updated 6 hours ago

The SP Group has initiated the bargaining process. Learn more about what to expect in this round of bargaining.

In accordance with the Federal Public Sector Labour Relations Act (FPSLRA), the bargaining team has formally initiated the process leading to the next round of negotiations with the Treasury Board.

On May 28, we served notice to the Treasury Board of our decision to proceed under the conciliation/strike dispute resolution method, pursuant to section 104 of the FPSLRA.

On June 1, we served formal notice to bargain, as required under section 105 of the FPSLRA.

What’s next:

  • The exchange of bargaining proposals will take place later this summer.
  • Bargaining will start before the collective agreement expires in September, with in-person sessions planned approximately every 4 to 6 weeks.

We will continue to keep members informed as the bargaining progresses and key milestones are reached. If you want more information or have any questions, get a @PIPSC.ca email address, and reach out to ask_sp@pipsc.ca to get added to the SP Active Google Chat Room, which will be the primary location for questions and feedback.
