2018 AFS AGM - Public Service Employee Survey

Public Service Employee Survey

Last year, the Agency will issued two surveys to the members.

The first survey was the Public Service Employee Annual Survey (PSEAS). The objective of this survey was to provide the agency with timely evidence on key people management issues and allow them to act earlier to address these issues. The 35 or so questions were provided to the employees to express their views on employee engagement, respect, diversity, innovation, well- being, harassment and discrimination in the workplace.

The comprehensive three year Public Service Employee Annual Survey (PSES) was issued in August of 2017.

As a result of the feedback provided from the 2014 PSES, CRA has taken steps to create a healthier work environment. The Respectful Workplace and Well-Being Strategy was implemented. The 2014 National Action Plan has been posted on the info-zone. The results of the 2017 survey are expected in February of 2017. There was commitment at National Union Management Consultation to develop a National Action Plan from these results. The AFS Executive emphasized the importance of action on issues related to Harassment and Discrimination. It was agreed by both parties that the survey is not a tool to be used for Performance Management.

AFS Group did encourage their members to complete the survey. It is anticipated that the National Action Plan will be completed before the Regional Actions Plans.
