The 2023 PIPSC AGM will take place November 26 - 29 in Montreal.

More than 1,100 public servants represented by PIPSC have reached out looking for our support as they navigate the challenges created by this “one-size fits all” order.

On January 30, 2023 PIPSC President Jennifer Carr, accompanied by Jordan McAuley, our specialist on outsourcing, testified before the House of Common Standing Committee on Government Operations and Estimates (OGGO) about the now-infamous McKinsey contracts awarded by the federal government.

PIPSC, on behalf of the AFS Group members, has filed a bad faith bargaining complaint against the Canada Revenue Agency. The complaint concerns the Agency’s recent decision to impose a “one-size-fits-all” return to office edict rather than continue to negotiate telework at the bargaining table.

Any return to office policy must “consider the nature of each department’s work and the services they provide to Canadians.” Those are Treasury Board President Mona Fortier’s own words, and we urge her to heed them, said presidents of PIPSC and CAPE in an opinion letter published in The Ottawa Citizen.

Today’s announcement is the total opposite of what the Treasury Board has been promising.

PIPSC is reminding the Treasury Board to prioritize the health and safety of its workers.

PIPSC has launched billboards in key locations to urge the Ford government to respect frontline workers and repeal Bill 124.

On November 29, 2022 Treasury Board President Mona Fortier announced the appointment of an expert panel to review the Public Servants Disclosure Protection Act (PSDPA).

On October 31, 2022 PIPSC submitted its comments in writing to this Committee regarding Bill C-13, An Act to amend the Official Languages Act, to enact the Use of French in Federally Regulated Private Businesses Act and to make related amendments to other Acts.

  On behalf of its members and staff, the Institute is proud to honour all Canadians who served during the various wars in which our great nation participated.

The Institute is saddened to learn of the untimely passing of our friend and colleague, Brandon Wilson. A PIPSC steward at Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada, Brandon passed away on October 23, 2022 at the age of 36.  He will be missed.

On October 28, 2022 President Carr met for the first time with Revenue Minister Diane Lebouthillier to discuss a number of important issues that affect our members, public services and Canadian taxpayers.

It is with sadness we announce the passing of Nancy Barr on September 3, 2022. From 2005 to 2009, Nancy served as the National Film Board Group President. During this time, she fiercely represented PIPSC members.
