The Pay Equity Committee at CNL has been working to develop a proactive pay equity plan. The committee is composed of bargaining agent representatives, including a PIPSC member and staff, non-represented employees and employer representatives.

The WPEG bargaining team met virtually with the company on December 1 to review the outstanding items in this round of negotiations: annual economic increases, remote work and section heads. Your team is pleased to announce that a tentative agreement was reached.

Your bargaining team continues to work towards a tentative agreement. We have requested a meeting with the company to discuss a resolution on remote work and a fair pay increase. As always, we will be in communication should a tentative agreement be reached.

PIPSC members working at the Canadian Nuclear Laboratories are now members of the CAAT DB Plus pension plan.  Members are strongly encouraged to transfer out their pension account balance.  Instructions on how to transfer funds to CAAT and a private locked-in RRSP are provided in

Your bargaining team met with the employer on October 11 and 12. It was hoped that in this session we would reach a tentative agreement. The parties were able to come to an agreement on a number of items including some elements of pay and premiums.

Your bargaining team participated in the second session of negotiations with CNL on February 13 through February 15. During this very collaborative session the parties continued the work on the non-monetary improvements to your collective agreement.

The Group members have voted overwhelmingly in favour of moving from the CERI pension to the CAAT pension. Your executive has asked CNL to move all further pension remittances to the CAAT plan.

Hello WPEG Members Your bargaining team, along with the WTEG bargaining team, conducted the first session of negotiations with CNL on November 21 through November 24. During this session the parties exchanged proposals for non-monetary changes to the collective agreement.

Dear Members, As many of you are aware, your WTEG & WPEG negotiating committee is very close to entering into conciliation with the employer and is trying its best to secure a contract that balances both a good work life & personal life for all the members in WTEG and WPEG.

As the negotiations for the renewal of your collective agreements continue in to the fall (2018), your bargaining teams would like to clarify the issue of hours of work. Negotiations have happened around moving to a 40 hour work week. Though at this time this proposal has not yet been signed off. We are still discussing compensation for the 40 hours, format of the 40 hours, start times, and how to calculate accrual and use of leave (vacation, sick leave, etc).

The three parties met November 28, 29, and 30, 2017 in Winnipeg, MB and are scheduled to meet again in Beauséjour, MB on January 9, 10 and 11, 2018. Additional tentative dates are scheduled for late January and February, 2018.

The Company, WTEG, and WPEG met in Winnipeg from October 23-25, 2017. Together the three teams have begun interest based negotiations.

The Collective Agreements between WPEG & WTEG and the Canadian Nuclear Laboratories expired on June 30, 2017. The bargaining teams of WPEG and WTEG decided to negotiate jointly with the Company to renew the collective agreement.
